Collection: Low Emission Burners (LEB)

A low emission fire, also known as a Low Emissions Burner (LEB) or Ultra Low Emission Burner (ULEB), is a wood or pellet burner that produces fewer emissions and is more efficient than traditional fires.

A LEB has pollutant emissions of less than 1.0g/Kg and an efficiency of greater than 65%. LEBs have the most common type of burner in Canterbury, but are being phased out in most Clean Air Zones - we can only permit ultra low emission burners (ULEB) in properties less than two hectares.
A ULEB has emissions of less than 0.4g/Kg and an efficiency of greater than 65%. ULEBs are considered the cleanest solid fuel burners and can be installed and used indefinitely at any NZ address nationwide.
