Collection: Ultra low emission burners (ULEB)

Ultra-low emission wood burners (ULEBs) are solid fuel burners that meet strict emissions and efficiency standards.

  • Emissions: ULEBs must emit 38 milligrams (Of polutant per kg of smoke)or less per megajoule of heat output
  • Efficiency: ULEBs must have a thermal efficiency of at least 65%
  • Testing: ULEBs are tested using the Canterbury Method 1 (CM1), which simulates real-life operating conditions

ULEBs are the cleanest solid fuel burners and allowed at every address in New Zealand. More environmentally friendly than traditional fires, and can help reduce harmful air pollution. ULEBs are also more efficient than older models, converting more of the fuel energy into heat.
